Province Makes 50000 Donation to Feed Nova Scotia

That’s why, today, Sept. 17, Premier Stephen McNeil announced government will donate $50,000 to support Feed Nova Scotia, which helped care for those most in need by distributing food across the province. Nova Scotia’s donation matches a $50,000 donation made by Nova Scotia Power and parent company Emera in honour of their customers, who showed such support and kindness in the aftermath of the storm. “Hurricane Dorian had a powerful impact. Many Nova Scotia families had to discard food after days without power and for some, this created a significant financial burden,” said Premier McNeil. “Feed Nova Scotia does exceptional work across the province to distribute food to those most in need and I know they will put this money to good use. I thank Nova Scotia Power for their leadership in making their own donation and I hope other companies and individual Nova Scotians who are able to, will consider donating what they can.”
