Harvard-Westlake student sought in bludgeoning attack

first_imgNORTH HOLLYWOOD – Police are searching for a 17-year-old Harvard-Westlake student who drove a female classmate to a popular hangout, bludgeoned her with a hammer and choked her before speeding off in a Jaguar, an LAPD spokesman said Monday. The 16-year-old girl, who is in stable condition at a local hospital, identified her attacker but police could not find him at his home, Officer Mike Lopez said. The boy took the girl to the afterschool hangout in the 3900 block of VanNoord Avenue, where he parked his 2002 beige Jaguar and began to talk about committing suicide, Lopez said. The girl became nervous and noticed an object in a plastic bag on the floorboard in between the boy’s feet. When she picked up the bag and found a hammer inside, the boy grabbed the hammer and began hitting her. “She got out of the car and he started choking her. Then he got back in his car and fled,” Lopez said. The car’s licence plate is 5BQA828. Police would not release the identity of the boy. – Daily News 160Want local news?Sign up for the Localist and stay informed Something went wrong. Please try again.subscribeCongratulations!
